Music-making is an international language and a human right, it feeds the soul and is elemental. There are many ways into music-making and everyone with guidance and opportunity can take part.

It encourages co-operation, taking turns, listening and social skills. Xylosound members have gained special status with their friends and families through their music performances.

In to-day’s society primary creativity is often squashed by the passive demands of commercial media and TV, so it is vital we keep making our own live music and sharing it with each other.

We hope that you will find our book useful and that it will inspire more music making, sharing and creating.
